Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE)
At Columbia Rehabilitation Clinic, our Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) provide a comprehensive, objective assessment of an individual’s physical abilities in relation to the demands of work and daily life. Using evidence-based testing protocols, our licensed physical therapists evaluate strength, endurance, mobility, posture, and functional movement patterns to determine a person’s capacity for safe and effective performance. FCEs are commonly used following injury, surgery, or during return-to-work planning to clearly identify functional limitations and capabilities.
Our team delivers FCEs with precision, professionalism, and a focus on patient well-being. Each evaluation includes detailed documentation and clear, actionable findings to assist employers, case managers, physicians, and legal professionals in making informed decisions. Whether the goal is determining work readiness, guiding rehabilitation, or supporting disability claims, Columbia Rehabilitation Clinic ensures that every FCE is thorough, accurate, and tailored to the individual’s unique needs.
Impairment Rating by AMA Guidelines
According to The American Medical Association Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, an impairment rating (IR) is a medical assessment of a claimant’s injury represented by a percentage value. An impairment is defined as a loss, loss of use, or derangement of any body part. An impaired individual may or may not have a disability. At Columbia Rehabilitation Clinic, Inc. we provide Impairment Ratings and send the results to your physician, attorney, workplace, etc.
